For Catherine Skronski, tile is more than a business—it’s a lifelong passion. Raised in California by immigrant parents who came to the United States from London in 1963, Catherine learned early the values of hard work, creativity, and determination. Inspired by her family’s journey, she launched her own business at the same time her father immigrated to America, turning her passion for design into a thriving career.

A graduate of the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), Catherine excelled in the Interior Design program and built a foundation that would shape her future in the luxury design industry. Fast forward more than three decades, and she is now the owner of Downtown Tile, a creative, high-end tile boutique in Belmar, New Jersey.

With over 27 years of experience, Catherine truly lives and breathes tile. She specializes in helping homeowners, designers, and builders create beautiful, personalized spaces through thoughtfully selected tile, stone, and marble. Her love for natural marble and timeless design is reflected in every project she touches.

Unlike a traditional showroom experience, Downtown Tile offers a personalized, one-on-one appointment-based approach. Catherine works closely with each client, paying meticulous attention to every detail—from design aesthetics and material selection to the precise calculations and planning required for a successful installation. Hi! My name is Danielle, and I’m the Jr. Designer at Downtown Tile. I’ve always had a passion for design and creating beautiful, thoughtful spaces. After earning my B.S in Architecture from Temple University in 2020, I began my career as a Design Consultant with one of the country’s largest plumbing and HVAC distributors, where I helped clients bring their design visions to life. Joining the tile industry has been an exciting next step, and I love helping customers discover the perfect combination of color, texture, and pattern to make their spaces uniquely their own. Outside of the showroom, you’ll usually find me urban sketching, which lets me combine my passion for architecture and art!

I’m Ashlee, I’m a mother of two and a beach-loving, flower-obsessed, chocolate and coffee aficionado. You can find me sipping a local latte, collecting sea glass, playing with florals, or supporting anything involving live music.

I was born and raised a local Jersey girl, and I have the personality to match! I love meeting new people and being a part of my community, whether it’s helping out the PTA, supporting local vendors, or helping you pick out the tile of your dreams in Downtown Belmar!

I have an education in Broadcasting, and spent 8 years doing Operations and Logistics Analytics and Inventory Control Management, where I learned a lot of invaluable skills. For the last several years, I have opted for a fun, new path that focuses on creativity and “getting my hands dirty”, something that was lacking in the corporate world. I look forward to meeting new people and working on unique projects that spark happiness and bring people together!
